European Le Mans Cup
Cinque i piloti impegnati nelle qualifiche della ELMS a Paul Ricard. Giorgio Roda e Richard Verschoor, insieme a Doriane Pin, sarebbero stati i grandi protagonisti del pomeriggio se non fosse per una penalità che li squalifica la loro pole: nella classe LMP2 Pro/Am, la vettura partirà dall’ultima posizione. Lotta accesa in LMP2: con sei minuti ancora sul cronometro, diversi piloti si sono avvicendati momentaneamente in testa — tra questi Valerio Rinicella – che ha chiuso 4° – con la vettura numero 18 IDEC Sport, prima che Esteban Masson firmasse il giro definitivo da pole position per soli 21 millesimi su Grégoire Saucy, compagno di squadra in United Autosport di Griffin Peebles. In LMP3 Matteo Quintarelli si qualifica sesto, una buona posizione su una griglia molto affollata e competitiva

Matus Ryba firma una delle prestazioni più solide della giornata, ma il sorriso è a metà. Il pilota della Brutal Fish by Campos conduce in testa per quasi tutto il finale di gara: con venti minuti sul cronometro ancora da scorrere, la vittoria sembra ampiamente alla portata. Poi qualche sbavatura di troppo apre la porta agli avversari. Colin Queen, a bordo della Ligier-Toyota del team 23Events Racing, approfitta della fase dei pit stop per rimontare dalla quarta posizione e sfilare la leadership proprio a Ryba dopo un serrato duello di qualche giro. A seguire anche la R-ace GP di Enzo Peugeot riesce a infilarsi davanti, relegando il pilota Pro Racing sul gradino più basso del podio. Terzo posto comunque prezioso in ottica campionato: Ryba ha dimostrato di avere il passo per vincere. La gestione del finale sarà il punto su cui lavorare da qui a Spa. Solo 10° l’equipaggio di Matteo Segre e Isaac Barashi.
In GT3 invece, Eliseo Donno porta a casa un risultato di grande sostanza con AF Corse. Al termine di una gara di due ore combattuta, il pilota italiano chiude secondo alle spalle della Ferrari di Kessel Racing (Lorenzo Innocenti e David Fumanelli), precedendo l’Aston Martin del Racing Spirit of Leman. Un podio che vale punti importanti: la lotta per il titolo GT3 è aperta, con la classifica ancora aperta.

Five drivers took part in the ELMS qualifying at Paul Ricard. Giorgio Roda and Richard Verschoor, together with Doriane Pin, would have been the big stars of the afternoon if not for a penalty that disqualifies their pole position: in the LMP2 Pro/Am class, the car will start from the last position.. Fierce battle in LMP2: with six minutes still on the clock, several drivers traded the top spot momentarily—including Valerio Rinicella, who finished 4th with the #18 IDEC Sport car—before Esteban Masson sealed the definitive pole lap for United Motorsport alongside teammates Grégoire Saucy and Griffin Peebles, by just 21 thousandths. In LMP3, Matteo Quintarelli qualified sixth—a solid spot on a packed and highly competitive grid.

Matus Ryba delivered one of the day’s most solid performances, though the smile was bittersweet. The Brutal Fish by Campos driver led for nearly the entire final stint: with 20 minutes still to go, victory seemed well within reach. But a few too many errors opened the door for rivals. Colin Queen, in the Ligier-Toyota for 23Events Racing, capitalized during the pit phase to charge from fourth and snatch the lead from Ryba after a tense few-lap duel. R-ace GP’s Enzo Peugeot also slipped ahead, dropping the ProRacing driver to the lowest podium step. Still, a valuable third place for the championship: Ryba showed he has winning pace. Final-stint management will be the focus heading to Spa. The Matteo Segre and Isaac Barashi crew finished just 10th.
