Il weekend pre-pausa estiva porta risultati divisi per Pro Racing Motorsport. A Budapest, Gladysz paga due incidenti non causati da lui in Sprint Race e Feature Race, mentre Del Pino e De Palo chiudono lontano dai punti. La Sprint Race di Budapest parte male per Pro Racing Motorsport già nelle primissime fasi. Al primo giro, Jin Nakamura tampona Gerrard Xie alla curva 2 e lo scaraventa addosso a Maciej Gladysz: entrambi i piloti escono di pista, con Nakamura e Gladysz immediatamente fuori dai giochi. Una Safety Car interrompe la gara mentre Xie rientra ai box con una foratura al posteriore. La vittoria va a Théophile Nael (Campos), che da sesto sulla griglia firma una rimonta perfetta sorpassando Kanato Le alla curva 1 al nono giro. Per Bruno Del Pino e Matteo De Palo un sabato senza acuti, lontani dalla zona punti in una gara a tratti caotica con diverse penalità — tra cui cinque secondi ad Ugochukwu per aver guadagnato un vantaggio fuori pista.
La domenica regala una Feature Race memorabile per la lotta al vertice: Freddie Slater (Trident) tiene dietro Ugochukwu fino alla fine e conquista la sua prima vittoria in Formula 3, soffiando la vetta del campionato proprio all’americano. Il britannico sopravvive a una Safety Car per un contatto di tre vetture alla curva 1 (Barrichello, David, Deligny) e resiste agli attacchi di Ugochukwu nel finale con un’ultima difesa coraggiosa.
Per Maciej Gladysz, purtroppo, il copione si ripete: alla curva 13 è coinvolto in un nuovo incidente con Xie, che lo porta in barriera. Secondo weekend consecutivo condizionato da circostanze di gara piuttosto che da errori propri. Del Pino e De Palo chiudono fuori dai dieci.
Al Mugello nel weekend di Formula 4, è David Cosma Cristofor a brillare con più continuità. In Gara 1, il romeno perde la testa al via — sorpreso da Maccagnani alla prima curva — e viene anche scavalcato da Sammalisto, ma tiene la quarta posizione fino alla bandiera a scacchi in una gara spettacolare segnata da due Safety Car e un ultimo giro ad altissima intensità. Il compagno di squadra Craigie ha tentato più volte di attaccare Maccagnani per la leadership, dando vita a una battaglia interna al team PREMA che ha rimescolato le posizioni.
Nella Gara Finale, Cosma Cristofor torna in zona punti con il nono posto, dopo aver lottato nuovamente per il podio nelle fasi centrali della gara. Con 52 punti conquistati al Mugello porta il suo totale a 233 punti in campionato, confermandosi primo inseguitore di Sammalisto a quota 288. Il titolo è ancora aperto, e a Imola — dopo la pausa estiva — sarà tutto da giocare.
Per Luboslav Ryukov, Alexander Chartier e Ginevra Panzeri il Mugello non regala grandi soddisfazioni. Il racconto di Gara 1 li vede lontani dalla zona punti, in un weekend dove la concorrenza — tra PREMA, US Racing e R-ace GP — ha alzato ulteriormente il livello. Il Mugello, con le sue curve cieche e il ritmo elevato imposto dall’asfalto toscano, richiede grande confidenza con il tracciato, e per i tre il fine settimana si chiude senza acuti. Budapest Takes Away, Mugello Gives: Cosma Cristofor the Star in F4, Gladysz in F3 the Victim of an Unlucky Weekend
The pre-summer-break weekend brought mixed results for Pro Racing Motorsport. In Budapest, Gladysz paid for two incidents not of his own making in the Sprint Race and Feature Race, while Del Pino and De Palo finished well outside the points. At Mugello, Cosma Cristofor was one of the standout performers: fourth in Race 1 and ninth in the Final, establishing himself as the championship’s second-best contender. Ryukov, Chartier and Panzeri endured a difficult weekend.
The Budapest Sprint Race got off to a bad start for Pro Racing Motorsport almost immediately. On the opening lap, Jin Nakamura hit Gerrard Xie into Turn 2 and sent him crashing into Maciej Gladysz: both drivers went off track, with Nakamura and Gladysz out of the race straight away. A Safety Car interrupted proceedings while Xie came into the pits with a rear puncture. Victory went to Théophile Nael (Campos), who from sixth on the grid produced a perfect comeback, overtaking Kanato Le at Turn 1 on lap nine. For Bruno Del Pino and Matteo De Palo, it was a quiet Saturday, well outside the points in a race that was at times chaotic and featured several penalties — including a five-second penalty for Ugochukwu for gaining an advantage off track.
Sunday produced a memorable Feature Race in the battle at the front: Freddie Slater (Trident) held off Ugochukwu to the finish and claimed his first Formula 3 win, taking the championship lead away from the American. The Brit survived a Safety Car triggered by a three-car incident at Turn 1 (Barrichello, David, Deligny) and resisted Ugochukwu’s late attacks with a brave final defense.
For Maciej Gladysz, unfortunately, the script was repeated: at Turn 13 he was involved in another incident with Xie, which sent him into the barriers. It was a second consecutive weekend shaped by racing circumstances rather than his own mistakes. Del Pino and De Palo finished outside the top ten.
At Mugello in the Formula 4 weekend, David Cosma Cristofor was the one to shine most consistently. In Race 1, the Romanian lost the lead at the start — caught out by Maccagnani at Turn 1 — and was also passed by Sammalisto, but he held onto fourth place until the checkered flag in a spectacular race marked by two Safety Cars and a highly intense final lap. Teammate Craigie repeatedly tried to attack Maccagnani for the lead, setting up an internal PREMA battle that reshuffled the order.
In the Final Race, Cosma Cristofor returned to the points with ninth place, after again fighting for the podium during the middle stages of the race. With 52 points scored at Mugello, he raised his total to 233 in the championship, confirming himself as Sammalisto’s closest challenger on 288. The title is still open, and at Imola — after the summer break — everything will still be up for grabs.
For Luboslav Ryukov, Alexander Chartier and Ginevra Panzeri, Mugello did not bring much satisfaction. Race 1 saw them far from the points, in a weekend where the competition — from PREMA, US Racing and R-ace GP — raised the bar even further. Mugello, with its blind corners and the high pace demanded by the Tuscan asphalt, requires great confidence with the track, and for the trio the weekend ended without standout results. The summer break is a chance to work and arrive at Imola in better shape.
